Mangia represents what was typical of my house.
There was never enough room, but you always had more than enough food & wine. There were often forty relatives & friends stuffed in a kitchen that comfortabley fit ten. Everyone would be talking at the same time, nine different conversations all going on at once, pots n' pans clanging, a TV blasting in the living room while kids ran between the two rooms.

As long as I can remember the "boys," played cards at my house. There was always plenty of food. Most everyone smoked, which drove my father nuts, because the kitchen wreaked of cigarettes. As a kid I had no idea what the Hell they were talking about. Ace high. Deuce wild. Hi-lo. In our Italian household the men often played cards after a big family gathering. The women? They were busy, cleaning up!
